As I was preparing this page, I came across a post by Phoebe Belcher of Royal African Safaris. She reminded readers that the word safari comes from the Kiswahili word meaning journey. She also wrote:
“Sometimes, it’s the unexpected that becomes the most unforgettable.”
That immediately struck a chord with me.
A Sixties-Seventies Man is my own safari through life. Along the way I’ve discovered wonderful music, unforgettable books, fascinating family history, and countless unexpected adventures. Some discoveries were planned. Others appeared when I least expected them—a record found in a Goodwill bin, a long-lost family connection, a new favorite author, or a musician I’d never heard before.
Sometimes, as Phoebe wrote, “it’s the unexpected that becomes the most unforgettable.”
I’d like to invite you to come along on the journey and explore some of those discoveries with me.
